Grommet Edging

Grommet edging protects your highly sensitive cables and lines gently, safely and precisely from sharp edges, burrs, sheet metal bushings or other hazards relating to functional safety. Grommet edging is also used to ensure that cables and lines are securely seated in the enclosure cut-out. It has become indispensable in electrical engineering and mechanics and is now an essential component in the assembly of cables, lines, wires or even hoses.

The ETTINGER product range includes grommet edging to insulate cables and protect them from sharp edges in five different designs. These products ensure quick and efficient fitting and stay securely in place without additional adhesive – for optimum edge protection with little effort.

• FM series: version with adjacent spring edge on one side
• T series: has the smallest outer dimensions of all available protection profiles. The punched spring profile is coated with polyamide and thus offers high abrasion and chemical resistance at a continuous service temperature of up to +140°C.
• BT series: has the same features as the T-Series with an additional padding strip for increased abrasion resistance of the routed cables, etc. Shore hardness 46 and thermally stable up to +85°C.
• AP series: has the same features as the T-Series, but with increased support thanks to the modified arrangement of the clamping springs. The opposite springs make motion in four axes possible.
• BAP series: fully encased spring clip with four-axis installation option.
• SL series: these edge protection profiles are coated on the outside and inside with a flexible polymer and offer a four-axis installation option.

Our wide range of products includes a variety of designs for different applications. Our grommet edging allows easy assembly on almost any material – whether metal, plastic, wood, glass or ceramic, as well as painted surfaces.

At ETTINGER, you can choose between:

• Grommet edging for sheet metal or enclosures with a thickness from 0.5 mm to 6.6 mm
• Grommet edging with or without additional pressure-sensitive adhesive on the inside
• Serrated grommet edging  for mounting with extremely small radii (e.g., a 6 mm bending)
• Our metal grommet edging is mounted quickly and efficiently, and remains securely attached without additional adhesive thanks to its spring action
• Metal grommet edging with outer and inner protective coating  or also with completely coated spring clip for optimum protection
• Grommet edging made from highly flexible plastic  or metal for special temperature and environmental requirements
• Grommet edging for mounting on sheet metal or enclosure edges (doubling as cable fastenings)
• Heat-shrinkable grommet edging  made from polyolefin, coated on the inside with a heat-melting adhesive and suitable for metal, wood or glass
• On reel (7.6 m or approx. 30 m) or as fixed lengths (322 mm or 1.2 m)
