The star grip screw has a metric thread (M) and a star grip as a screw head. The screw head grips particularly well thanks to the extra-large diameter and the special star shape with its notches that are as wide as a finger. In fastening technology, the star grip screw is also often referred to as a “star grip”. Another synonym for this type of screw is the term “adjustable screw”.
No more tools required: The star grip screw
Thanks to its special properties, the star grip screw is well-suited above all for applications requiring regular fastening or loosening of the screw connection. The star grip of the star grip screw makes this process fast, efficient and possible without using a tool. The metric screw thread prevents the adjustable screw from loosening on its own. The star grip screw is used, among other applications, as a fastening or retaining element on machines and power units.

- Star grip screw with star grip: The thread of the star grip screw for star grip screws with a star grip is often made of steel or stainless steel, while the star grip in turn usually consists of plastic.
- Star grip as a nut: The star grip as a nut in fastening technology forms the nut-side counterpiece to the star grip screw. With the classic star grip screw, the star grip is already attached to the thread. When the star grip as a nut is attached to a suitable screw, it becomes an adjustable screw.
- Knurled screw: Among adjustable screws, the knurled screw is a popular alternative to the classic star grip screw with star grip. Instead of the star grip of the star grip screw, it has a knurled screw head. Since unlike the star grip screw with star grip, knurled screws lie flat on the corresponding workpiece, they are also ideal for securely covering certain parts in machine construction in a targeted manner, for example. Knurled screws are available as variants with a slot in addition to the smooth variant without a drive.
- Adjustable star grip screw with plastic washer: The adjustable star grip screw with a plastic washer is similar to the knurled screw. It has a metric thread made of steel or stainless steel, as well as a knurled screw head made of plastic and is usually used as an adjustable foot, since the thread makes the enclosure foot adjustable in height. This means unevenness on the installation surface can be compensated for.
