Universal enclosures from ETTINGER
Universal enclosures are used whenever reliable and robust protection for electronic devices is required. As the name suggests, they are universally applicable for various purposes. For this reason, universal enclosures are also made of different materials, depending on the application. At ETTINGER you can obtain universal enclosures made from durable plastic – including as shell enclosures – and as sheet metal and aluminum enclosures. In addition, our wide product range also includes numerous sealed enclosures that comply with different protection classes.
Available universal enclosures at a glance
Sheet metal and cast aluminum enclosures
Also available in various designs – robust sheet metal and cast aluminum enclosures made of aluminum or sheet metal for electronic devices. These are available as versions with a cover flange and housing flange in numerous colors. Whether trapezoidal or octagonal, round or oval, the shape is determined by the intended use. Our product range also includes small aluminum enclosures with lid fixing and industrial electronics enclosures made of stainless steel (edged and welded).
Universal enclosures and plastic shell enclosures
Plastic universal enclosures are available from ETTINGER, for example as flat versions or with PCB guides for easy assembly of printed circuit boards. Flat plastic housings are available from stock in various sizes, heights and types, optionally with ventilation slots for components that generate high levels of heat. Our product range also includes plastic shell enclosures with and without battery compartments and, depending on the model, with one or two removable front panels. Our shell enclosures are produced by renowned manufacturers such as Hammond and OKW.
IP65 sealed enclosures and other enclosures that comply with different protection classes
Sealed enclosures are mainly used in industrial electronics, civil engineering and the automotive industry. Here, the main focus is to ensure reliable sealing of the electronics. In order to differentiate the various protection classes, different IP codes are used, each of which indicates compliance with a set of fixed requirements. IP40, for example, guarantees reliable protection against the ingress of foreign bodies, while IP65 enclosures can withstand dust and low-pressure water jets. IP54 models guarantee protection against dust, sand and splashing water. Waterproof and robust sealed enclosures in accordance with IP65 and DIN standard 1725 are in great demand – which is why ETTINGER stocks a wide range of variants.
