What is a combination nut and what are its advantages?
Nuts with integrated washers offer numerous advantages in the areas of assembly, inventory management, and process reliability:
- Since the washer is permanently attached to the nut, it cannot be lost or forgotten during installation.

- Inventory management is streamlined: Instead of stocking two separate components, only one fastening element is needed.

Combination nuts with rotating washer
This type of nut features a movable, smooth washer. The rotating washer increases friction between the nut and the workpiece, increasing the clamping force and allowing for easier adjustment of the connection. Spring steel washers generate additional spring forces after pretensioning.
Nuts with a rotatable washer are ideal for vibration-resistant screw connections and are available in the following specifications in ETTINGER's standard range:

Combination nuts with spring-loaded toothed lock washer
In this combination nut, the teeth of the rotating spring-loaded toothed lock washer dig into the material, providing additional fixation of the components and establishing a contacting connection. This type of contact fastening is particularly common in electronics manufacturing.
You can purchase combination nuts with a spring-loaded toothed lock washer in the following variants:

Combination nuts with toothed lock washer
These nuts also ensure high strength and a secure contacting connection thanks to their captive, rotatable washers with toothing. However, unlike spring-loaded toothed lock washers, they do not generate spring forces.
