Soldering pins are short pins made from a conductive or solderable material. They are also called soldering nails, solder pins, contact pins, connector pins or just pins. They are used to create a fast, secure and conductive connection between the printed circuit board and peripherals and all other components of an electronic unit. They are an indispensable interface in soldering technology.
The surface of soldering pins usually consists of solderable tin, however nickel and silver are also suitable. Depending on the version, often only the solderable part of the pin consists of solderable material. In most cases, soldering pins are mounted or populated directly on the printed circuit board (PCB) using THM (Through Hole Mounting) and then soldered. Soldering pins can also be used as soldering pads. ETTINGER offers stamped soldering pins, soldering pins in a round or forked design, soldering pins with insulated bodies, as well as substrate contacts. We also offer soldering pins for press-fit technology (soldering pins with notches) as well as versions compatible with the easy-to-assemble and forward-looking SMD/SMT technology.
High-quality soldering pins and soldering contacts in various designs
High-quality soldering pins and soldering contacts are characterized by particularly good contacting and extremely low contact resistance. Our standard range includes large quantities of soldering pins ex stock, either stamped and flat or in a turned, round design, as well as in different lengths and shapes – straight, angled or as versions designed for sandwich assembly.
Stamped soldering pins, straight
ETTINGER stamped soldering pins are available in brass or bronze and with tin-plated, silver-plated or gold-plated surfaces. We carry models in different sizes and lengths as well as the compatible tools. Please also refer to our v for more information about the different versions of our stamped soldering pins.
ETTINGER soldering pins are available in bulk or mounted on steel wire in magazines for processing with insert tools.
Stamped angled soldering pins
Choose between hole sizes from 0.8 mm to 1.3 mm. Our angled soldering pins are also available in magazines and as wire-wrap connection pins.
Turned soldering pins, round and forked
Our round soldering pins are available with different diameters – from Ø 0.5 mm to Ø 2.3 mm. Soldering pins in a forked design are available with diameters from 0.8 mm to 1.6 mm. Our round and forked soldering pins are available in tin-plated or gold-plated brass.
Other soldering pin designs:
Folding plug-in connectors: for plug-in connections on round pins with a conductor cross-section of 0.3 mm² to 0.5 mm², in silver-plated bronze or brass.
Soldering pins as ferrules: These pins are hollow for wire feedthroughs and are made of tin-plated or silver-plated brass.
Soldering pins with notch and slot: These pins are made of tin-plated brass and stay firmly in place even in imprecisely drilled holes to ensure trouble-free soldering.
