Cable kink protection from ETTINGER
Solid and reliable cable protection products prevent cables from being damaged due to mechanical, thermal or chemical stress. High mechanical loads can arise, especially at enclosure openings on machines. Grommets or cable sleeves offer effective protection against abrasion on sharp edges and increase the cable's tensile strength. They are therefore indispensable cable management components in numerous fields, including vehicle and machine construction, medical technology and the electronics industry.
Bend-protection sleeves at the enclosure outlet prevent the cables from being damaged due to kinking, which can result in electronic malfunctions. Made of flexible yet resilient rubber-like materials, these elongated protective elements also keep dust, dirt and moisture away from cables and wires.

When it comes to cable kink protection, you have a choice of different materials and designs. In addition to bend-protection sleeves that only offer kink protection, ETTINGER offers variants with two-piece strain relief – it is a good idea to order the necessary clamping pieces at the same time. Our grommets made of polyurethane elastomer, polyethylene or polyamide can be quickly installed without the use of tools and comply with VDE regulations.
We offer bend-protection sleeves with the following material properties:
- PVC: Shore hardness: 60 ± 5; chemical resistance: ozone, alkalis, salts; temperature resistance: -25°C to +70°C
- Neoprene (EPDM): Shore hardness: 40 to 60; chemical resistance: ozone, fats, oils, organic solvents; temperature resistance: -30°C to +120°C
- TPE (TPB/TPR): Shore hardness: 60 ± 5; chemical resistance: ozone, water, acids, alkalis, solvents; temperature resistance: -50°C to +125°C, briefly up to +150°C; flammability class: UL94-HB
For new designs in the field of vehicle construction and medical technology, TPE is the material of choice due to its high temperature resistance and freedom from halogens.
Bend-protection sleeves for customised cable assembly
Order bend-protection sleeves for cables with standard diameters as well as versions with a collar, shoulder or groove, in rectangular form as well as with a long or short sleeve. Versions are available with these specifications:
- Cable diameter: 1.3 mm to 9.0 mm
- Clamping area: 1.3 mm to 13.0 mm
- Panel hole diameter: 4.5 mm to 20.0 mm
- Interior diameter: 1.3 mm to 14.0 mm
- Panel thickness: 1.5 mm to 8.5 mm
