Expanding nuts
If you need to reinforce the fastening points on electronic components while avoiding contact between metal screws and the underlying material, then expansion nuts are the right choice. These fasteners can be installed efficiently using the blind assembly method, are self-locking, twist-proof, reusable, and corrosion resistant. Typical applications in automotive engineering include the fixing of trim panels – expansion nuts are also known as body anchors or rivets – and the fastening of panels with self-tapping screws, for example in electrical appliances, motor vehicles and boats. The loosening torque of an expansion nut is at least two and a half times the screwing-in torque. This results in high pull-out and clamping forces for screw connections.
Plastic expansion nuts – square or round
At ETTINGER you can obtain high-quality polyamide expansion nuts with either round or square heads for a maximum operating temperature of +90°C. You can also buy the following designs from us in large quantities:
