Ring terminals and forked cable lugs from ETTINGER
Insulated cable lugs can be used to make electrical connections between wires and strands. For this purpose, the fine-stranded wires are inserted into the tubular or cylindrical end of the cable lug, which is sheathed in insulation, and firmly connected by pressing or crimping. The conductor receptacle is thus deformed in a way that results in a permanent form closure, which is provided with additional kink protection by the insulation.
The connection to the electrically conductive components is usually made at the forked cable lug or ring terminal by means of screw fastening. Typical application areas for this type of connection in electrical engineering, electromechanics and electronics manufacturing are cable harnesses, control cabinets and terminal blocks. Ferrules with insulating collars are recommended for clamping stranded wires during conductor assembly, as they prevent the individual wires from splicing.
In ETTINGER's extensive range you will find insulated or partially insulated cable lugs in many different designs. The insulation on our crimp-type cable lugs consists of high-quality polyamide with temperature resistance of -55°C to +105°C. The color coding of the insulation makes it easy to assign the cable lug to the corresponding conductor cross-section.
Ring terminals for numerous bolt threads
We offer ring terminals for thread sizes M2 to M12. Our solderless ring terminals comply with DIN 46237 A, are made of electrolytic tin-plated copper and are available in the following versions:
- Yellow: conductor cross-section 0.1 mm² to 0.5 mm² or 4.0 mm² to 6.0 mm²
- Red: conductor cross-section 0.5 mm² to 1.0 mm²; 10 mm² and 35 mm²
- Blue: conductor cross-section 1.5 mm² to 2.5 mm²; or 16 mm²
Forked cable lugs in the appropriate conductor size
The connection end of a forked cable lug is a split ring. We also stock these cable lug connectors to DIN 46237 C for various conductor sizes and bolt threads. These include:
- Red: conductor cross-section 0.5 mm² to 1.0 mm², M3 to M5
- Blue: conductor cross-section 1.5 mm² to 2.5 mm², M3.5 to M6
- Yellow: conductor cross-section 4.0 mm² to 6.0 mm², M4 to M6
