PCB supports ensure the necessary distance between sensitive parts during printed circuit boards' assembly and mounting in electronics production. Since they are made of non-conductive plastic, they insulate the printed circuit board from the metallic base or bottom of the enclosure.
ETTINGER supplies spacers which can be installed without tools and which simply snap into the holes on the PCB and carrier plate by means of snap-in fastening. These spacers are easily removable and ideal for use on elements that are frequently replaced or maintained.
For a particularly firm hold, we offer distance bolts with external thread or female thread. PCB supports for special mounting purposesx, such as self-adhesive or for blind hole mounting, round off our portfolio. Fastening, length, material: all at your choice
PCB supports are available in numerous lengths and designs. For the material you have the choice between the following options:
- Various types of polyamide, e.g. PA 6.6 natural in flammability class UL94-V2 or UL94-V0
- Polyamide 6.6 black UL94-HB, temperature range -40 °C to +110 °C
- Polyamide 6.6 black UL94-V2
- Polyamide 4.6 red UL94-V2 for temperatures from +152 °C to +160 °C maximum
- Polycarbonate transparent UL94-V2, temperature range -40 °C to +115 °C
- Black thermoplastic elastomer UL94-V0, elastic and vibration damping
In addition to the extensive standard dimensions from our product catalog we also supply special dimensions against a minimum order quantity - just ask us for a quote. If space is limited, miniature PCB supports are also available from ETTINGER.
The spacers are mounted by snap-on, snap-in, screw or blind-hole fastening.
PCB supports with snap and latch mechanism
Spacers with snap-in function can be assembled by hand and are therefore very efficient in use, for example in large series production. PCB supports for snap-in fastening are available from ETTINGER in the following designs:
- with or without spring clip
- with molded-on washers for automated circuit board assembly
- with snap-in head on both sides
- with double snap-in expanding support and stiffening rib
- with lateral locking lever and centering nose
Spacers for screw connections
Spacers for snap-on and threaded fastening are available with female or external thread in the following types:
- Hexagon with M3 or M4 female thread, locking pin and locking nose
- With or without spring clip
- With inner bore and self-tapping screw
- For corner screw fixing with lateral locking lever
- With M2.5 to M4 external thread, also with retaining bracket
- With snap-in locking pin
PCB supports for plug-through mounting and support
If mounting on the printed circuit board is only possible from the bottom or if you are looking for a mounting solution for heavy printed circuit boards, you will find it in the category plug-through and supporting holders. It includes:
- Plug-through holders with large or domed head and snap-in locking pin
- Plug-through holders with detachable, secure snap-in connection
- Supporting holders with snap-in fastening
- Supporting holders with screw or rivet fastening
Other types for special requirements
Our PCB supports for special mounting purposes are suitable for a wide range of special applications, for example, when a quick removal of the printed circuit board or a very stable connection has to be guaranteed. At ETTINGER you have the choice between the following products:
