Pin-type cable lugs from ETTINGER
Fine stranded wires are inserted into the hollow end of pin-type cable lugs. The crimp sleeve is then deformed using suitable crimping pliers or a crimping machine, creating a permanent form closure. The insulation protects the connection against environmental influences and provides kink protection. For solderless electrical contacting, the pin is simply plugged into a socket or connected to other contacts. Insulated pin-type cable lugs are frequently used as efficient connection technology in the field of electrical engineering and in the automotive industry. ETTINGER offers pin-type cable lugs with cross-section-dependent insulation (colour coding) as well as pin-type cable lugs without insulation.
Pin-type cable lugs for diverse conductor cross-sections
All our cable lugs are made of electrolytic tin-plated copper and comply with DIN 46231. There is a choice of two insulation materials: polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyamide (PA). The temperature resistance is -55°C to +125°C for polyamide and -10°C to +75°C for PVC. Most of our pin-type cable lugs feature a flared insulating sleeve (easy-entry function), which makes inserting the stranded wire particularly easy. The wire size can be identified by the colour scheme for efficient cable management in manufacturing and fabrication:
- Yellow for a conductor cross-section of 0.1 mm2 to 0.5 mm2
- Red for a conductor cross-section of 0.5 mm2 to 1.0 mm2
- Blue for a conductor cross-section of 1.5 mm2 to 2.5 mm2
- Yellow for a conductor cross-section of 4 mm2 to 6 mm2
Uninsulated pin-type cable lugs are available with a cross-section of 0.1 – 0.5 mm² to 16 mm2.
