Vibration dampers from ETTINGER
Vibration dampers, also known as shock mounts or rubber-bonded metal buffers, are an integral part of vibration control technology and are used to isolate strong mechanical vibrations and impacts. Vibration dampers are also essential when it comes to reducing vibrations or structure-borne noise. Vibration-damping shock mounts are used in mechanical and plant engineering as well as in the construction equipment industry. At ETTINGER, we offer stop dampers in a variety of styles and with different Shore hardness levels as well as insulated standoffs, threaded blocks and hinged standoffs.
Vibration dampers – meet the range
Vibration dampers reliably absorb impacts and vibrations. Dampers from ETTINGER can handle compressive and shear forces, or a combination of the two. They protect components from premature failure caused by excessive vibration levels.
Rubber-to-metal bonded vibration dampers are recommended when sensitive assemblies need to be decoupled from vibrating environments (such as machines) or components (such as fans). This ensures that they continue functioning over the long term.
At ETTINGER, you can choose between different types of vibration dampers:
- Type A with male/male thread
- Type B with female/male thread
- Type C with female/female thread
- Type D with male thread on one end
- Type E with female thread on one end
Vibration dampers with different Shore hardness levels
A further important aspect that influences the damping characteristics is the quality of the damping material itself. These characteristics are indicated by the Shore hardness (Sh) and are based on the test method used (e.g., A). Shore hardness A is used for soft rubber and Shore hardnesses C and D are applied to elastomers and soft thermoplastics.
Flexible plastics demonstrate different Shore hardnesses, which are specified accordingly. The higher the value, the harder and more rigid the damper and the lower the damping characteristics. Therefore, softer models have better damping characteristics.
We supply both rubber and neoprene vibration dampers with the following Shore hardnesses:
- Rubber: Shore hardness A57 (A43 or A68 on request)
- Neoprene: Shore hardness A40-43
